A correction also appears at the end of the guide it applies to. Updating a price or an opening time when a guide is re-checked isn’t a correction; getting something wrong is. Spotted something? Email hello@citorah.com. How this works has the rest of the standard.

  • Do You Need Travel Insurance for a 2026 European Holiday? An Honest Guide

Re-checked against GOV.UK, the NHS, the insurers’ own policy documents and the FCA register, and rewritten. Alcohol exclusions apply after excessive drinking, not after any drink: GOV.UK says most policies don’t cover events after you’ve drunk excessive alcohol, and the guide now gives Aviva’s, LV=’s and Post Office’s own wording. Basic policies don’t all exclude activities: Post Office’s, Economy included, cover many at no extra cost, while some, such as scuba below 30m or motorcycling over 125cc (not 250cc), can’t be covered at all. Delayed-luggage cover varies: Post Office pays after 24 hours on the way out, and nothing on Economy; Aviva pays after 12 hours, but only with its optional belongings cover. The FCDO exclusion applies where it advises against all travel or all but essential travel. In Switzerland, a UK GHIC only works for some nationalities. The A1 moped licence rule is from GOV.UK’s advice for Greece. Each provider is now named with the firm and FCA authorisation behind it: LV=’s policies move to Allianz Insurance plc from 1 January 2027, and AllClear’s are arranged by IES Limited of Gibraltar, which the register lists as EEA authorised. We couldn’t read Allianz Assistance’s site, so it keeps only its register entry. Replaced the broken-arm and air-ambulance costs, which had no source, with GOV.UK’s own example: £25,000 or more for a broken leg in Spain. Removed the price table, which was priced for EU residents, and the add-on prices: insurers only quote through forms that need your personal details. Also removed the annual-policy break-even, the credit-card cover, the “most-claimed” and “most-denied” claims, and opinions such as “reliable claims handling” and “particularly strong for medical claims”, which no source supports.

  • Do You Need Travel Insurance for a 2026 European Holiday? An Honest Guide

Removed SafetyWing. It isn’t authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority: the FCA register’s only match, its Norwegian agency, stopped being an appointed representative in March 2021. So UK buyers wouldn’t have the Financial Ombudsman for disputes, and its Essential plan caps medical cover at US$250,000, below this guide’s own minimum. Also removed the claim that battleface covers trips against FCDO advice, which its UK pages don’t confirm.

  • Sant Joan in Barcelona: How to Spend the Night of 23 June

Re-checked against Barcelona city council’s own pages and rewritten as a record of Sant Joan 2026, with the 2027 date. The beach scenes were wrong: bonfires, firecrackers and smoking are banned on Barcelona’s beaches, and the city’s bonfires are in squares and at street junctions, lit from the Flama del Canigó. The beaches stay open through the night but must be empty by 06:00 on 24 June, and there are no lifeguards at night, so the guide now says so wherever it mentions staying on the sand or going in the sea. We couldn’t confirm that transport gets slower on the night: in 2026 the metro ran non-stop for 43 hours, with extra trains. Sant Joan 2027 is the night of Wednesday 23 June into Thursday 24 June, and 24 June 2027 is on the council’s holiday calendar, so the booking advice is now for 2027. Removed Gràcia, Poble Sec and Port Olímpic as the night’s main areas, the claims that hotels tighten by early May and that club line-ups are announced in late May or early June, the pickpocketing claim, and the timings and crowd patterns that no source states.

  • The Best Boat Parties in Ibiza 2026: An Honest Ranking

Re-checked against the operators’ own 2026 pages and terms and GOV.UK’s travel advice, and rewritten. The cheapest ticket was Float Your Boat’s, at €49 boat-only or from €79 with club entry, not €70–110. Oceanbeat was €86, €109 or €129, not €80–130, and its €86 ticket already includes a 3-hour open bar. Float Your Boat’s sunset party sailed only on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and an hour earlier in September; Pukka Up left at 17:00, not 18:00, in September and October. Oceanbeat lists a maximum of 200 guests, not 300, so it isn’t the biggest boat of the three. Float Your Boat’s sunset party couldn’t be paired with Pacha’s Solomun+1, which is on Sundays. Prices didn’t drop in September: all three listed the same prices all season. Pukka Up allows no outside drinks, so the advice to bring your own water is gone. Cala Saladeta is a stop on Float Your Boat’s own cruise, so it’s gone as an example of where only charters can go. Added GOV.UK’s advice that local laws in parts of San Antonio ban open bars and organising party boat trips, and where each operator leaves from. Removed Es Codolar, Boatjump, the charter and bar prices, Float Your Boat’s capacity, the crowd ages, claims about food, sound and quiet corners on board, the booking lead times, the marketplace mark-ups, the line-up timing, and the warnings about “VIP catamaran” listings and early-season boats, which no source states. None of the three has announced 2027 dates.

  • 3 Days in Barcelona 2026: The Perfect Itinerary

Montserrat is about 1.5 hours from Barcelona by public transport, not 1 hour by train. Removed the 40-minute time to Sitges, which we couldn’t confirm.

  • 3 Days in Lisbon 2026: The Perfect Itinerary

Removed the 40-minute train times to Sintra and Cascais, which we couldn’t confirm from CP. Cascais trains leave from Cais do Sodré.

  • 3 Days in Madrid 2026: The Perfect Itinerary

Removed the 33-minute train time to Toledo, which we couldn’t confirm from Renfe. The trains leave from Madrid Puerta de Atocha.

  • Best Day Trips from Lisbon 2026: Eight That Are Worth the Train

Brought into line with the re-checked Lisbon transport guide: the Viva Viagem card is now the navegante occasional, and CP’s Lisboa–Sintra and Lisboa–Cascais returns cost €5.10. Removed the single fares, which CP’s 2026 zone prices don’t confirm.

  • Getting Around Barcelona 2026: Airport, Metro, Taxis, Hire Cars, and the Day-Trips by Train

Re-checked against TMB’s, ATM’s, AMB’s and Aena’s sites and the operators’ own, and rewritten with 2026 fares. The Aerobús is €7.75 single and €13.30 return, not €5.90 and €10.20, and its tickets are valid for 90 days, not 15. A single ticket is €2.90, not €2.65, and covers one journey, with no 75-minute transfers; the T-casual is €13.00, not €12.55; the T-familiar €11.50, not €10.70; the T-dia €12.00, not €11.20, with a return trip to the airport metro; and the L9 airport ticket €5.90, not €5.50. Per journey, the T-familiar costs more than the T-casual, not less: what it offers is sharing. The Hola Barcelona card covers the airport metro, not the Aerobús. Taxis add €4.60 at the airport, not €2.10, with a €21 minimum from the airport, and charge €1.35–€1.66 a kilometre, not €1.20–€1.40; there’s no luggage surcharge, and nights, Saturdays and public holidays have a higher rate rather than a surcharge. At the airport, Uber is a private-hire (VTC) service, not a taxi one. Barcelona has no congestion charge: its low-emission zone bars cars without a DGT label, meaning pre-Euro 3 petrol and pre-Euro 4 diesel cars, not pre-Euro 4 and pre-Euro 6, on weekdays, and foreign cars must be registered in advance. Montserrat is about 1.5 hours away, by FGC train and the rack railway or cable car, not an hour by Rodalies. Park Güell is a 20-minute walk from Lesseps or Vallcarca, not 15. The Tramvia Blau is temporarily out of service, and the Tibidabo funicular is run by the amusement park, not TMB. Removed the airport’s distance and terminal split, the R2 fare and journey times, the Aerobús stops, Hola Barcelona’s prices, Renfe’s and Iryo’s times, fares and price comparisons, which we couldn’t check against their sites, the Sitges, Girona, Figueres and Tarragona journey times, the taxi, parking and hire-car prices, bus 24 to Park Güell, Donkey Republic, Bolt’s 2022 arrival and the claims about which app dominates.

  • Getting Around Lisbon 2026: Airport, Metro, Trams, Taxis, and the Trains to Sintra and the Coast

Re-checked against Metro de Lisboa’s, Carris’s, CP’s and Visit Lisboa’s own sites, and rewritten. The Aerobus appears to have stopped: Carris refers to the airport’s inactive Aerobus shelter and has no Aerobus on its 2026 route list, so the guide now sends you to the Metro or Carris’s airport buses. The Viva Viagem card is now the navegante occasional card. A Carris/Metro ticket is €1.90, not €1.85, and a zapping Metro journey €1.72, not €1.65. The 24-hour Carris/Metro ticket is €7.25, not €6.80, and it doesn’t cover the trains to Sintra and Cascais: the €11.40 Carris/Metro/CP ticket does. CP’s fares go by zone, and a Lisboa–Sintra or Lisboa–Cascais return is €5.10. The Glória, Lavra and Bica funiculars are out of service and the Santa Justa lift is temporarily closed; on board, a funicular ticket is €4.30 and the lift €6.20, not €4.10 and €5.30. Tram 12E is no longer a circular: it runs from Martim Moniz to Praça Luís de Camões. New national rules for taxi fares take effect on 14 October 2026, so the fare table, the per-kilometre rate and the luggage surcharge are gone. Removed the Bolt, Uber and FREENOW claims, the airport’s terminals and shuttle, the journey times we couldn’t confirm (from the airport by metro, and by train to Sintra, Cascais, Setúbal, Porto and Faro), parking and hire-car prices, tuk-tuk prices, Tram 28’s pickpockets and queues, the “Atlantic on your right” line, and superlatives such as the “closest capital airport” and “one of the most scenic short rail journeys in Europe”, which no source we could reach states.

  • Getting Around London 2026: Airports, the Tube, Buses, Black Cabs, and the Trains North

Re-checked against TfL’s, the airports’ and the train operators’ own sites, and rewritten. TfL counts six main London airports, not five, and eight main stations in central London, not six terminuses. From Heathrow, the Elizabeth line is £14.60 to Paddington at any time of day, not £11–13, and takes 28 minutes to Paddington and 39 to Liverpool Street, not 35–45; the Piccadilly line is £5.90, not £6.30; and TfL’s typical black-cab fare is £70–£120, not £50–80. From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express is £24.00, not £20, and Southern and Thameslink are £10.70 off-peak or £19.20 at peak, not £15–18. The DLR from London City to Bank is £3.30 off-peak, not £3.40. Contactless doesn’t always beat a Travelcard: TfL says a 7 Day Travelcard can be better value for a week that starts mid-week. Oyster gets 11–15-year-olds a Young Visitor discount that contactless can’t, and each adult can take up to four under-11s free, not “groups of 4+”. Buses take Oyster as well as contactless, and bus fares rise to £1.85 from 1 November 2026. Route 11 no longer reaches Liverpool Street, Bank, St Paul’s or Trafalgar Square, and route 15’s heritage Routemasters ended in 2020. The Tube runs from about 5.30 AM to 12.30 AM Monday to Thursday and starts around 7 AM on Sundays, not 5 AM to midnight, and the Night Tube also runs on the Windrush line. The Congestion Charge is £18, not £15; cameras enforce it, but you pay it yourself; and on Saturdays it applies from noon, not 7 AM. Edinburgh is around 4 hours 8 minutes from King’s Cross, not 4½, with advance fares from £41.40, not £50–120; Amsterdam is 4 hours 19 by Eurostar, not 3h 55. The cable car is now simply the London Cable Car, and its pay-as-you-go journeys don’t count towards the caps. Removed the airport distances and airlines, London City’s “five minutes gate to taxi”, the Uber, Bolt and FREENOW comparisons and fares, taxi fares from the other airports, the 24-hour buses, parking prices, the Cambridge and York journey times, the advance-fare table and the “double or triple” walk-up claim, the Knowledge’s 25,000 streets, the Bank “mind the gap” line, and the claim that the Elizabeth line is faster than every line it competes with, which no source states.

  • Getting Around Madrid 2026: Airport, Metro, Taxis, Cercanías, and the High-Speed Trains

Re-checked against esMadrid’s, Metro de Madrid’s, EMT’s, Aena’s and Renfe’s sites, and rewritten. The Cercanías C-1 runs from T4 through Chamartín and Atocha to Príncipe Pío: it isn’t a T4–Chamartín shuttle. Metro Line 8 takes about 12 minutes from Nuevos Ministerios to T1–T3 and 20 to T4, not 30. The Airport Express, now line 203, runs every 15–20 minutes by day and every 35 overnight, not every 12–35. Metro de Madrid counts 303 stations, not 302. The Multi card costs €2.50, rather than being a deposit, and you load it with tickets, not credit. Against the 10-trip Metrobús, the 5-day Tourist Travel Pass needs about 10 journeys a day to pay off, not four, and the 1-day pass about 15. EMT single tickets are bought on board and can’t go on the Multi card. Taxis charge €1.40–€1.60 a kilometre, not €1.05–€1.30; nights and weekends are a higher rate, not a surcharge; and the surcharges are for trips from the main stations and IFEMA, and on three festive nights, not to the bullring or T4. Madrid Central is now the Distrito Centro low-emission zone. Metro Line 6 currently stops at 11 PM from Sunday to Thursday, and Line 10 isn’t running between Nuevos Ministerios and Cuzco. Removed what we couldn’t confirm: the airport’s distance and terminal split, the Cercanías fare from T4, Renfe’s journey times and fares, the conditions for free Cercanías travel beyond Renfe’s own description, the Cercanías lines to El Escorial and Aranjuez, the low-emission zone’s label rules and €200 fine, parking and hire-car prices, contactless payment at the gates, UK licences, and superlatives such as “one of the densest metros” and “the cheapest of any major capital”.

  • Where to eat in Lisbon 2026 — 10 restaurants worth the metro ride

Removed the Aerobus from the airport advice: it no longer appears on Carris’s 2026 route list, and Carris calls its airport stop inactive.

  • Where to Stay in Barcelona 2026: A Neighbourhood-by-Neighbourhood Guide

Re-checked against the hotels’ own sites, the city council’s and the Catalan tax agency’s, and rewritten. From 1 April 2026, with the city’s €5 surcharge, the tourist tax is €12 a night at five-star hotels and €8.40 at four-star, not €4.50–8, and if you prepay, the rate when you booked applies. Mobile World Congress is in early March (2–5 March 2026, 1–4 March 2027), not late February. Eixample follows Cerdà’s 1859 plan, not an 1860s one. Uma House by Yurbban Trafalgar is UMA House Trafalgar. Removed Meliá Barcelona Sky, which we couldn’t check against its own site; Can Recasens, whose web address is now a for-sale page; and Can Maño and La Cova Fumada, which we couldn’t confirm. Removed the price table and percentages, 22@, the Encants, star ratings, travel times, the safety and noise claims about Raval, the Gothic Quarter and Barceloneta, and superlatives such as the “smallest five-star” and the “closest five-star with a beach view”, which no source states.

  • Where to Stay in Lisbon 2026: A Neighbourhood-by-Neighbourhood Guide

Re-checked against the hotels’ own sites, Visit Lisboa’s and Carris’s, and rewritten. The Santa Justa lift is temporarily closed. Lisbon Story Guesthouse has 12 rooms, not five. The Independente is now Independente Príncipe Real, and its rooftop is Gandaia Club, not The Hidden Rooftop. Solar do Castelo is now Heritage Solar do Castelo Inn, inside the castle walls. Casa Balthazar is by Rossio station, not on the Bairro Alto border, and moves to the Baixa/Chiado list. The Lumiares is in the heart of Bairro Alto, not on its quieter eastern edge. Pestana Palace is out towards Belém, not near the Avenida, and moves to the Belém list. The One Palácio da Anunciada, Avani and Hotel Britânia are by Restauradores and the Avenida, and move to that list. Memmo has nothing in Belém, so the line suggesting it did is gone. Removed the InterContinental and Palácio do Governador, which we couldn’t check against their own sites, and Park and the Príncipe Real garden, which we couldn’t confirm. Removed the price table and percentages, the cheap season (the guide gave two different ones), the earthquake and “seven hills” claims, star ratings, opening hours, journey times and superlatives, among them Bertrand’s “world’s oldest bookshop”, that no source we could reach states.

  • Where to Stay in London 2026: A Neighbourhood-by-Neighbourhood Guide

Re-checked against the hotels’ own sites and TfL’s, and rewritten. Brown’s Hotel dates itself to 1832, not 1837. Claridge’s Foyer & Reading Room is for afternoon tea, not a bar: its bars are Claridge’s Bar, The Fumoir and Dante Mayfair. The Marylebone bills itself as five-star, not four. La Fromagerie is on Moxon Street, just off Marylebone High Street. The Megaro is opposite St Pancras, not between the two stations, and Euston is about 12 minutes’ walk from King’s Cross, not five. The Great Northern Hotel is now Kaya Great Northern Hotel. Shoreditch is about 15 minutes from the West End by Tube, not 20, and South Kensington about 10, not 20. The Bridge Theatre and Borough Market are east of Tate Modern, so the South Bank section now runs to Tower Bridge. The Hyatt Regency Churchill is in Marylebone, not Kensington. From Heathrow, the Elizabeth line is £15.50 to Tottenham Court Road (£14.60 to Paddington), not £11–13; the Heathrow Express is from £10 in advance and £26 walk-up; and the Piccadilly line takes about 50 minutes, not an hour. The Congestion Charge is £18, not £15, and the ULEZ covers all of London. The walking times from Soho are now TfL’s, from Soho Square. Removed The Dorchester and Hilton London Bankside, which we couldn’t check against their own sites, and the British Museum’s free entry, which we couldn’t confirm. Removed the price table, the cheapest months, the percentages, and the star ratings, opening years, hotel features and superlatives (“most photographed”, “highest concentration of design hotels”) that no source states.

  • Athens Nightlife Guide 2026: Gazi, Psyrri, Kolonaki & Beyond

Re-checked and rewritten. Our 6 October correction put Line in Kerameikos; it’s in Kato Petralona. The World’s 50 Best Bars 2026 lists Line (No. 5), The Bar in Front of the Bar (No. 19) and Barro Negro (No. 40); The Clumsies is no longer on it, and Baba Au Rum is No. 55 on the extended list. Baba Au Rum and The Clumsies are just east of Athinas Street, not in Psyrri, and The Clumsies is an all-day bar with a private room, not two bars. Below the GB Roof Garden is Syntagma, with Parliament across it; the Acropolis is about 1 km away. Da Capo is a coffee shop, not a bar. Thiseio is west of Monastiraki and Plaka south-east; neither is south. The Riviera season runs from May to late September. Balux is closed for renovation. Athens taxis are metered, so fares don’t surge. Exarcheia isn’t trouble-free: the city advises avoiding Exarchia and Syntagma Squares when strikes or demonstrations are planned. Removed Villa Mercedes, Blue Fox and Tailor Made, which we couldn’t confirm are open, and the door, drink and taxi prices and opening-time generalisations, which no venue or official source states.

  • Barcelona Nightlife Guide 2026: Clubs, Beach Bars & Rooftops

Re-checked against the clubs’ own sites and rewritten. Razzmatazz’s rooms don’t each run one genre: its Friday and Saturday nights are electronic, rap and club music across all five rooms, and pop and indie are on Sundays at Common People. The rooms are numbered 1 to 5 (there’s no Loft, Pop 2 or Lolita), doors open at 1 AM, so there’s no empty room at 11 PM, and first-release tickets are €18, not €20–25 on the door. Shoko’s nights are hip hop, R&B, reggaeton, afrobeats and drill, not house. Entry isn’t free before midnight: Opium on a Saturday is €20 with a drink. Moog is €11–15, not €12, and opens every night, so Monday isn’t dead. Nitsa is on Fridays and Saturdays, not Sundays. Razzmatazz has €6.50 lockers rather than a cloakroom, and Moog’s cloakroom is €2. Moog bans sports shirts. Hipnotik is a hip-hop festival, not a techno account. Removed Macarena, whose hours, capacity, door and DJs we couldn’t confirm, and Sutton, whose door policy we couldn’t confirm. La Terrrazza is no longer a skip: we couldn’t stand behind the reason we gave. Removed the summer 2026 warehouse nights, and the crowd ages, drink prices and flyer mark-ups, which no source states.

  • Best Rooftop Bars in Barcelona 2026: Views, Prices and Who Gets In

Removed the year the W’s 26th floor stopped being Eclipse (2023): no primary source gives it, and other sources say 2022. It’s now NOXE.

  • Greek Island Hopping 2026: A Party-Goer's Itinerary

Re-checked against the ferry timetables and rewritten. Removed the out-of-ten party scores, which had no published method. Ios’s nightlife is in Chora, not on the harbour. Chania is 8 to 9½ hours overnight from Piraeus, not 8, and Paros 2 hours 40 by fast ferry. Conventional ferries take roughly 1.2 to 2 times as long as fast ones, not always twice. The 10-day trip has four ferry legs, not six: about €175 at the cheapest fares we found, or €300–350 all by fast ferry. Agios Ioannis is the quiet Mykonos base; Ornos and Platys Gialos are busy beach resorts. Santorini has a few late venues in Fira. Average July and August highs on the islands are about 27°C, not 35°C+. Removed the day-by-day sailing times, which no current timetable matches, the rest of the trip budget, and booking lead times no source states: Ferryhopper advises booking some routes months, not weeks, ahead.

  • Ibiza 2026: A Week-by-Week Calendar of What's On

Re-checked and rewritten as a record of the 2026 season. Not every residency was running in early June or still running in mid-September: Flower Power, Carl Cox, Metamorfosi, Martin Garrix and Calvin Harris’s Tuesdays started later, and several summer runs ended in late August. elrow ran at [UNVRS] from 6 June to 3 October, not all season, and its founders are from Fraga, not Barcelona. Flower Power is Roger Sanchez’s house night, not a retro party. May averages about 23°C by day, not the mid-20s; July averages about 30°C, not consistently over it; and August’s average high is 30°C, not 31. School holidays start well before late July. The island doesn’t go quiet after 12 October: Pacha and DC-10 open for New Year. Removed the sea temperatures and the cost index, which had no source or method, a “Circoloco 27th anniversary” that no listing shows, the 12-hour Circoloco claim, and crowd and price patterns no source states.

  • Ibiza Closing Parties 2026: Every Date, and How to Get In

Flower Power, which opens Pacha’s Grand Closing Weekend, is a house night with Roger Sanchez, not a retro party.

  • Ibiza Opening Parties 2026: Every Date, Every Club

Re-checked and rewritten as a record of the 2026 openings. Hï had no cheaper “soft opening”: its opening party cost €100–110, more than its regular nights. Circoloco’s opening started at 4 PM, not with the terrace opening in the late morning. Tickets don’t follow an early-bird, second-release, marketplace pattern: Hï’s opening reached its ninth release and Pacha’s its 15th, and Hï also sells on the door. Flower Power is Roger Sanchez’s house night, not a retro party. ANTS carried on at [UNVRS] only in May. Nassau Beach Club opened on 28 March, a month before opening week, and Beachouse has no Sunday DJ series. Removed Jamie Jones from Circoloco’s regulars, the guest-list and 12-hour claims, an unsupported line about O Beach’s line-ups, and the price rises, mark-ups and budgets, which no source states. No club has announced its 2027 dates yet.

  • Ibiza Superclubs in 2026: Hï vs Ushuaïa vs Pacha vs DC-10 vs Amnesia

Re-checked against the clubs’ own 2026 pages and rewritten. DC-10 opened in 1989, not 1999 (Circoloco began there in 1999), and has three spaces, not one room and a terrace. Circoloco’s regular Mondays opened at 6 PM, not 3 PM. ANTS carried on at [UNVRS] only on its five May Saturdays; from June, [UNVRS]’s Saturday was elrow. Hï had no cheaper “soft opening”: its opening party cost more than a regular night. Ticket prices are now each club’s 2026 online prices: the old ranges missed headline nights such as Black Coffee (€80–100) and F*** Me I’m Famous (€115–125), and Circoloco was €87.39, not €40–60. Pacha’s Flower Power is Roger Sanchez’s house night, not a 60s–80s retro party, and Robin Schulz had a limited run of Saturdays, not every other one. The dress codes now follow the clubs’ published rules: Ushuaïa bans swimwear, Hï’s and Ushuaïa’s codes are near-identical, and Pacha bans sportswear and caps only in VIP, with nothing on collared shirts. Which of Amnesia’s rooms plays what depends on the party, and Pyramid is minimal house and techno, not a multi-genre “festival in a club”. Removed the capacities, table prices, Hï’s sound-system brand, Amnesia’s enclosure date and opening roof, Jamie Jones as a Circoloco regular, and the drink prices, budgets and ticket-tier percentages, which no club publishes.

  • Mykonos Beach Clubs 2026: Scorpios, Nammos, SantAnna & More

Re-checked against the clubs’ own sites and rewritten. Removed the per-head price ranges, daybed prices, minimum spends and sample day budgets: the big clubs don’t publish prices outside their booking systems, so we couldn’t stand behind them. Paradise Beach Club has free entry, not €10–30 tickets, and tables from a €250 minimum spend. Scorpios and SantAnna are about 100 metres apart, not 400, and SantAnna’s DJs play house, afro house and techno. Super Paradise’s party starts at 5 PM, and Sunday is its late night, open until 1 AM, not its weakest. Nammos takes bookings by phone, email or its contact form, has four day-use cabanas, and Psarou faces south-east. SantAnna takes walk-ins when it has space. By early October several clubs have closed: Scorpios’s 2026 season ended on 4 October, and its Bodrum venue is temporarily closed. Removed a suggestion to head “back to town” for a walk-in sunset drink at Scorpios: it’s on Paraga beach, and its site mentions no walk-in bar. Removed Fokos Taverna, which no primary source could confirm.

  • Mykonos vs Santorini vs Ios 2026: Which Greek Island?

Re-checked and rewritten. Removed the out-of-ten scores, which had no published method behind them. Ios’s bars are in Chora, the hilltop village above the port, not on the harbour. Santorini has a few late venues in Fira, such as 2 Brothers, with DJs until 5 AM. Paros is 45 minutes from Mykonos by fast ferry, not 2 hours, and Naxos 40–50 minutes. Mykonos to Santorini is 2 hours 10 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes by fast ferry, and the Piraeus fast ferry to Mykonos takes 2 hours 40 minutes. Blue Star’s conventional ferry to Santorini takes from 6 hours 6 minutes, not 8. Mykonos’s average July and August highs were about 29–31°C in 2023–25: 35°C+ comes with heatwaves, not every summer.

  • Primavera Sound vs Sónar: Which Barcelona Festival to Pick

Rewritten as a record of the 2026 festivals, with the 2027 dates and tickets. In 2026 Sónar’s music ran on one site from 5 PM, so there was no separate Night with 1 AM doors and no Day-to-Night bus. A day ticket covered the whole session (€49 Thursday, €99 Friday or Saturday), and Sónar+D was separate, at Llotja de Mar. The SonarBus ran from Fira Gran Via back to Plaça d’Espanya, not from it. Primavera’s city programme starts on the Monday of festival week, not the Wednesday, and the festival closed on the Sunday. Neither festival allows open resale or lists a student discount, and Primavera’s resident discount is for the Barcelona metropolitan area, not all of Catalonia. Primavera announced its 2027 dates in June and its line-up on 5 October, not in February, and its 2027 fan sale was about 18% below general sale, not 30–40%. Sónar 2026 had a 17-vendor food court. Removed the pass prices, the Cupra stage description, resale and hotel mark-ups, and claims about back-loaded line-ups, which no source states.

  • Santorini 2026: Sunset Spots, Cocktail Bars and Late Nights

Re-checked against the venues’ own sites and rewritten. MoMix’s Santorini bar isn’t operating, so it’s removed, and so is Enigma, which we couldn’t confirm is still trading. 1800 in Oia is now 1800-Floga, in what was Oia’s first traditional bakery, not a sea captain’s house. Argo has moved from Fira to Kontochori. Uber does operate on Santorini. Sunset is about 8.40 PM in early July but about 7 PM by the end of September, so the guide now gives times by date rather than “8.30 PM”. Not every caldera view needs a booking: PK keeps bar seats for walk-ins, and the Athenian House’s Evzon Bar takes no reservations. PK closes at midnight, and 2 Brothers stays open until 5 AM. The Akrotiri lighthouse is at the south-western tip. July and August are the peak, not late May to October, and 35°C+ isn’t typical. Removed drink prices, taxi and ATV fares, the Fira–Oia path length, the winery count and the crowd comparisons, which we couldn’t confirm.

  • Where to Party in Barcelona: A Neighbourhood Guide 2026

Re-checked and rewritten. Paradiso takes no advance bookings: you join a virtual queue at its door. Apolo’s Thursdays are Milkshake and El Dúplex, Nitsa runs on Fridays and Saturdays, and Nasty Mondays is no longer on Apolo’s programme. City rules close the terraces on Gràcia’s main squares by midnight at the latest, not 2 AM. Plaça Reial is in the Gothic Quarter, not Raval. The Bunkers del Carmel are in Horta-Guinardó, not Gràcia, and close at 7.30 PM in summer and 5.30 PM in winter. Removed the “Gran Hotel Central rooftop” as a sunset spot: it’s the Grand Hotel Central’s La Terraza del Central, which closes at 10 PM. Removed Dry Martini’s €14 martinis and black-tie staff, Two Schmucks’ walk-up line and Boadas’s no-reservations rule, which their own pages don’t state, and the prices, crowd ages, closing times, Raval safety claims and walking times, which no source states.

  • 3 Days in Barcelona 2026: The Perfect Itinerary

The Hospital de Sant Pau is by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, not Gaudí.

  • 3 Days in Cancun 2026: A First-Timer Itinerary That Gets You Off the Strip

Removed Nomads Cocina & Barra, which has closed, and La Fábrica and El Tío, which we couldn't confirm exist under those names. Lolo Lorena and Mango Cafe are down the island, on the way back from Punta Sur, rather than in town, and Lolo Lorena may not serve lunch. Zama Beach Club has no minimum spend: loungers are 600 MXN a day for two.

  • 3 Days in Cancun 2026: A First-Timer Itinerary That Gets You Off the Strip

Playa Delfines was listed as good for families. It has strong rip currents and frequent red flags, so the table now says photos only, and families are pointed to Playa Norte for a swim. Cenote Azul is south of Playa del Carmen (km 266 on Highway 307), not in Puerto Morelos: the day plan and travel times are corrected, entry is about 180 MXN, not 350, and a life jacket 40 MXN, not 30. The Isla Mujeres ferry is 580 MXN return (290 each way), not about 350, and Playa Tortugas charges the same fare with fewer sailings, not double. Isla Mujeres is seven kilometres long, not eight, and Punta Sur is at its south end, not the north.

  • 3 Days in Lisbon 2026: The Perfect Itinerary

Day 2 recommended Pastéis de Belém, which Citorah's food guide says to skip for its 40-minute queue. It now sends you to Manteigaria in Chiado instead.

  • A Week in Ibiza 2026: The Perfect Itinerary

The plan has two big club nights, not three, and ends with a quiet last day, which the summary had wrong. Added that Benirràs’s Sunday drumming may not be on: the beach-music ban has been enforced since 2025.

  • Athens Nightlife Guide 2026: Gazi, Psyrri, Kolonaki & Beyond

Six d.o.g.s closed in December 2024, and the Hilton's Galaxy Bar closed with the hotel in 2022 (it's due back with the Conrad that replaced it); both are removed. Removed Schoolpinters, The Guilty, Warpzone and Mo's Wine Bar, which we couldn't find, and Alphaville, which is in Metaxourgeio, not Exarcheia. Brettos is in Plaka, Line in Kerameikos rather than near Kolonaki, and Akanthus on Alimos beach, not in Glyfada. On lines 2 and 3 the metro runs until 2 AM on Fridays and all night on Saturdays. Beat is now Freenow. The Varkiza venue is called Island, and Thiseio's bars line a promenade, not a waterfront. [This entry put Line in Kerameikos, which was also wrong: it's in Kato Petralona. See 8 October.]

  • Barcelona Beach Clubs 2026: What the City Actually Has

Rewritten and republished, with the editor’s sign-off. The guide now says plainly that Barcelona has no Ibiza-style beach club, and covers what it does have: the Port Olímpic restaurant-clubs, the city’s licensed beach bars and their capped prices, two beach bars where you can book a sunbed, seafront lunches and Beso Beach in Sitges. Everything was checked against the venues’ own pages and Barcelona city council’s beach information.

  • Barcelona Beach Clubs 2026: What the City Actually Has

Withdrawn. On checking, too little of it held up: Pacha Barcelona became KU Barcelona in September 2025 and has no pool or daybeds that we could find; Ocean Club is a nightclub in Eixample, not a beach club; Opium has no pool; Bestial has closed; and the Gavà section had already been removed. The guide's address now goes to the Barcelona page.

  • Barcelona Beach Clubs 2026: What the City Actually Has

Removed the Gavà section. Beso Beach isn't in Gavà, and we couldn't confirm that Llevataps or Gavamar exist. Chiringuito del Desi is removed for the same reason. The title no longer mentions Gavà.

  • Barcelona Nightlife Guide 2026: Clubs, Beach Bars & Rooftops

NOXE’s cocktail bar at the W is walk-in only and for over-21s; the guide said to book it through the W. Martinez takes bookings online; the guide said it was walk-in. Most rooftops close by 1 AM, not 1–2 AM.

  • Barcelona Nightlife Guide 2026: Clubs, Beach Bars & Rooftops

Removed Hotel Brummell's rooftop: its terrace and pool appear to be for guests, and we couldn't confirm a public bar. Terraza Vincci Gala is on Ronda de Sant Pere, not Passeig de Gràcia. NOXE, which replaced Eclipse on the W's 26th floor, is now described from the W's own listing.

  • Barcelona Nightlife Guide 2026: Clubs, Beach Bars & Rooftops

Pacha Barcelona became KU Barcelona in September 2025; the guide no longer describes the pool, daybeds and residencies, which we couldn't confirm. Opium has no pool. Sutton opened in 2001 and isn't Barcelona's oldest club. Removed Santa Mónica from the seafront list. [Sutton's own site now says it has 30 years of nightlife behind it, so 2001 may be wrong. Sutton is no longer in the guide; see 8 October.]

  • Barcelona Nightlife Guide 2026: Clubs, Beach Bars & Rooftops

Eclipse, the W's rooftop, closed in 2023 and is now NOXE. The guide no longer describes Eclipse's DJ sets and door. [We couldn't confirm the year Eclipse closed: no primary source gives it, and other sources say 2022. See 8 October.]

  • Best Beaches in and near Cancun 2026: An Honest Guide

The path between Coco Bongo and Señor Frog's leads onto Playa Gaviota Azul; Playa Chac Mool's access is about 500 metres south, near km 10.

  • Best Beaches in and near Cancun 2026: An Honest Guide

The Isla Mujeres ferry from Puerto Juárez is 580 MXN return (290 each way, plus a municipal fee of about 37 MXN), not 300. The Hotel Zone piers charge the same fare with fewer sailings; they don't charge double or triple.

  • Best beaches in Ibiza 2026 — 8 worth the drive

Experimental Beach is out at Cap des Falcó, not halfway along Ses Salines. The sun never sets over Es Vedrà from Cala Comte: Es Vedrà is due south. The island off Comte is Sa Conillera, not Es Penjats. Cala Salada’s car park has about 65 spaces behind a summer barrier, and the P7 bus runs there from Sant Antoni. Benirràs is east of Port de Sant Miquel, car access is regulated on summer Sundays and the P6 shuttle runs there; July sunsets are around 21:15, not 20:45. Aigües Blanques is in Santa Eulària, has been closed repeatedly since 2023, and has no services or road access in 2026. Removed a CBbC beach club at Comte, which doesn’t exist, and a wrong landmark near S’Estanyol.

  • Best beaches near London 2026 — 8 worth the train

Wyatt & Jones in Broadstairs has closed and is removed, along with the day plan built around it. Removed three places we couldn't confirm exist or still trade under that name: Mehalah's at Oysters & Ale and the Mersea Island Fish Bar on Mersea, and Harbour Street Fish Bar in Whitstable. Frinton has no direct trains from Liverpool Street (you change at Colchester), and its lifeboat station is in Walton; the lifeguard claim is removed. Victoria to Littlehampton is a Southern service via Worthing, not a South Downs Line. Removed details about The Lock & Barrel and The Black Horse that we couldn't confirm.

  • Best Day Trips from Lisbon 2026: Eight That Are Worth the Train

The 434 bus day ticket in Sintra costs €13.50 (a little less online), not €6.90.

  • Best Day Trips from Lisbon 2026: Eight That Are Worth the Train

Incomum is at Rua Dr. Alfredo da Costa 22, the Setúbal tasca is Adega Leo do Petisco, and Fialho is on Travessa dos Mascarenhas. The Lisbon bus to Ericeira is line 2740; Ericeira was Europe's first World Surfing Reserve, not its only one; and Ribeira d'Ilhas is about 3 km north, not five. The 4474 runs to Praia da Figueirinha and there is no 4472. The 403 to Azenhas do Mar and Adraga is now the 1254 and the 1624. Removed Vertigem Azul, a dolphin-trip operator we couldn't confirm is trading, and Casa da Mata in Sesimbra, which we couldn't confirm exists. Added that Casa Santiago may close on Sundays.

  • Best Paella in Barcelona 2026 — 10 Places Worth the Metro

Xiringuito Escribà’s kitchen closes at 22:30, not 23:00, and it’s a permanent restaurant, not a beach shack.

  • Best Paella in Barcelona 2026 — 10 Places Worth the Metro

La Mar Salada's weekday lunch is the €28 Fórmula del Mercat, booked on its own website, not a €17.50 menu through Resy. Removed the claim that Barraca cooks its rice over wood, which we couldn't confirm.

  • Best Paella in Barcelona 2026 — 10 Places Worth the Metro

Removed “jamón at Petràs”: Petràs is La Boqueria's wild-mushroom stall, and it has been closed since July 2025.

  • Best Rooftop Bars in Barcelona 2026: Views, Prices and Who Gets In

Rewritten and republished, with the editor’s sign-off. The new guide is built from each rooftop’s own 2026 pages and menus: twelve rooftops, with who can go up, opening hours, booking and drinks prices, plus three viewpoints that aren’t rooftop bars. Nothing from the withdrawn version was carried over unchecked: Hotel Brummell, Casa Camper and the Pacha rooftop are gone, and the Majestic, Grand Hotel Central, La Isabela and NOXE rooftops are back with checked details.

  • Best Rooftop Bars in Barcelona 2026: Views, Prices and Who Gets In

Withdrawn. On checking, too little of it held up: Eclipse and Terraza Oria had closed and Brick's couldn't be found; Hotel Brummell's terrace and pool appear to be for guests, with no public bar we could confirm; Casa Camper's rooftop is for guests and has no plunge pool; and the Pacha rooftop no longer exists under that name. The guide's address now goes to the Barcelona page.

  • Best Rooftop Bars in Barcelona 2026: Views, Prices and Who Gets In

Eclipse, on the W's 26th floor, closed in 2023; the floor reopened as NOXE. The guide now says so and drops Eclipse's prices, hours and booking details until NOXE has been checked. Terraza Oria at the Monument Hotel closed in October 2025 and is removed, and so is Brick's in El Born, which we couldn't confirm exists. Vincci Gala is on Ronda de Sant Pere, not Passeig de Gràcia. [We couldn't confirm the year Eclipse closed: no primary source gives it, and other sources say 2022. See 8 October.]

  • Do You Need Travel Insurance for a 2026 European Holiday? An Honest Guide

Removed Auras Personal Insurance: it isn't authorised by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority, and its medical cover falls below the minimum this guide recommends. Direct Line no longer sells travel insurance. The GHIC covers state healthcare only, and eligibility depends on where you live, not your passport. Battleface sells build-your-own cover, including trips against FCDO advice; it doesn't have softer alcohol exclusions. World Nomads covers 150+ activities, not 200+. Allianz Global Assistance is now Allianz Assistance. Removed two unsourced statistics. [We couldn't confirm that battleface covers trips against FCDO advice: its UK pages don't say so, and the guide no longer does. And in Switzerland, a UK GHIC only works for British, Swiss or EU nationals, refugees, stateless people and their families. See 11 October.]

  • Dubai Nightlife & Brunch Guide 2026: How the City Actually Goes Out

The UAE weekend has been Saturday–Sunday since 2022, not Friday–Saturday; Friday night and Saturday are still the big nights out. BASE Dubai has closed, and there's no Dubai club called Cové; both are removed.

  • Getting Around Barcelona 2026: Airport, Metro, Taxis, Hire Cars, and the Day-Trips by Train

The 30-minute AVE to Tarragona arrives at Camp de Tarragona, 8 km from the city. [Renfe's trains for Tarragona do run to Camp de Tarragona, but we couldn't confirm the journey time or the distance, so the guide no longer gives them. See 10 October.]

  • Getting Around Dubai 2026: Airport, Metro, Taxis, Careem/Uber, and When to Hire a Car

The weekend has been Saturday–Sunday since January 2022, not Friday–Saturday. Metro hours, Salik tolls (AED 4–6), parking (now Parkin), the Nol Red ticket (90 days, ten trips), taxi fares (AED 5 flag-fall, AED 12 minimum) and roof colours corrected. The Palm Monorail costs AED 20 one way and AED 30 return, and you reach it from the tram. Careem's ride-hailing is Uber-owned, which the questions section had wrong. Removed details we couldn't confirm: the DWC bus, Careem Captains, a local car-hire brand and named pick-up zones.

  • Getting Around Greece 2026: Athens Airport, Inter-Island Ferries, Domestic Flights, and When to Rent a Car

Golden Star sails from Rafina to the Cyclades, with conventional and high-speed ships. There's no €10 combined airport pass; the €20 three-day ticket includes an airport round trip. Mykonos to Santorini is high-speed only, 2h10 to 3h35. Summer ferries need booking 30 to 60 days ahead, as the guide's own questions section said, not a week. Beat is now Freenow.

  • Getting Around Ibiza 2026: Airport, Transfers, Hire Cars, Buses, and the Formentera Ferry

Since 1 April 2026 Ibiza’s buses have been run by ALSA on a new network, so the guide’s lines, fares and apps were out of date: the airport buses are AERO1–AERO5, AERO4 serves Santa Eulària, and the night discobus is lines D1–D4, at €3–4 by card. Uber does operate on Ibiza (UberX only), taxi fares are metered, not zoned, and the Aquabus boat to Playa d’en Bossa costs €10 one way, not €3–5. Trasmed GLE, not Trasmediterránea, sails from Valencia and Barcelona. Four operators run the Formentera ferry, with sailings late into the evening in summer. Cala Comte and Cala Conta are the same beach, and Cala Salada’s car park has a summer barrier. Formentera has a small bus network. HoppaGo is part of Hoppa, not a separate operator.

  • Getting Around Madrid 2026: Airport, Metro, Taxis, Cercanías, and the High-Speed Trains

The airport Cercanías C-1 is now a T4–Chamartín shuttle. Free Cercanías travel with a train ticket applies to AVE and long-distance tickets (not Avlo, Avant or Ouigo), from four hours before departure to four after arrival. The 10-trip ticket is €7.30, not €12.20, and the Tourist Travel Pass comes in 1–5 and 7 days at current prices. El Escorial is on the C-8, and no Cercanías line reaches Segovia. The central low-emission zone isn't a congestion charge, and the fine is €200. The overnight airport Express Bus runs to Cibeles, not Atocha. Removed Atocha's tropical garden, which is closed for works. [The C-1 runs from T4 through Chamartín and Atocha to Príncipe Pío, so it isn't a T4–Chamartín shuttle. We couldn't confirm the conditions for free Cercanías travel beyond Renfe's own description, the Cercanías routes to El Escorial and Segovia, or the €200 fine, so they're no longer in the guide. See 10 October.]

  • Greek Island Hopping 2026: A Party-Goer's Itinerary

High-speed ferry times from Athens corrected: Ios 4h15, Santorini 5h, Paros 2h45. The itineraries now stay a night in Athens before the flight home, as the guide itself advises. Mykonos has no caldera. The Santorini car advice now matches the other Greece guides: skip the car.

  • Ibiza 2026: A Week-by-Week Calendar of What's On

The opening and closing weeks were wrong. In 2026 IMS ran 22–24 April, not in May. Pacha, Hï, Ushuaïa and DC-10 opened 24–27 April and Amnesia on 9 May. The residencies closed on 3–4 October, and the clubs’ own closing parties run 9–12 October, ending with Circoloco on 12 October. Amnesia’s Tuesday is Metamorfosi: Cocoon has no residency in 2026, just three dates. There’s no Glitterbox Festival, and elrow runs every Saturday at [UNVRS], not mid-July takeovers. Removed an invented scene at Solomun+1, unsourced claims about lineups and what residents say, unsourced percentages, and a line promising live listings the site doesn’t have.

  • Ibiza Closing Parties 2026: Every Date, and How to Get In

Rewritten with the 2026 dates from the clubs’ own calendars and Ibiza Spotlight’s listings. Every closing date was wrong: the big closings run 9–12 October, and Circoloco at DC-10 closes last, on 12 October, not first in late September. F*** Me I’m Famous is at Ushuaïa, not Pacha, and Cocoon has no residency in 2026, so no closing. Removed the Underground, which closed in 2024, and Akasha and Beachouse closing dates we couldn’t confirm. Removed scenes from closing nights the editor hasn’t been to, and unsourced ticket prices and statistics.

In 2026 Pacha (24–26 April), Hï (25 April), Ushuaïa (26 April) and DC-10’s Circoloco (27 April) opened over one long weekend, and Amnesia on 9 May, not one club a weekend from late April to mid-May. At Ushuaïa, F*** Me I’m Famous is on Mondays, Martin Garrix on Thursdays and Calvin Harris on Fridays and Tuesdays. Pacha’s Friday is Music On, and Flower Power is on Saturdays from mid-June to August. Amnesia’s Tuesday is Metamorfosi: Cocoon has no residency in 2026. DC-10’s Thursday is Solid Grooves. Pacha (1973) is older than Amnesia (1976). Removed Storytellers, which isn’t on Pacha’s programme, Do Not Sleep, which ran only in May and June, a line implying more than one visit, and unsourced percentages.

Mediterránea Pitiusa is now Formentera Lines, four operators run the ferry, and in summer boats back from La Savina run late, with a night boat at about 01:00: the guide said the last was at 21:00. Fares are roughly €20–35 each way, and bikes cost a small supplement, not a flat €5. Aquabus sails from Ibiza port, not Sant Antoni. The lighthouse bar is Códice Luna, not Es Pi des Català. Beso Beach is independent, not part of the Ushuaïa group. Mud bathing on S’Espalmador is banned. The bike loop is about 55 km, not 35, and the sunset times are corrected. Removed claims that the guide was checked with locals and that the editor had used the companies and eaten at the places listed.

Also removed unsourced claims about themed weekends, cancellation policies and a sunscreen rule, and unsourced percentages.
